That baby sure hangs over the end of the trailer.

Yes, the boat is moved back on the trailer about a foot to lower the tongue weight for trailering. It will be scooted forward once the engines are installed.

Overall, how does this compare to the costs/market value of the boats with outboards that you considered prior to starting this endeavor?

The older I get the more I realize it’s not always about the money. If you like what you have and the layout works then the conversion makes sense. The feeling of it planing out the first time will be satisfying.

Early on I recall doing a sell/buy analysis . . . It looked like I'd be spending an additional $100K.

EDIT: Basically selling something nobody wants and trying to buy something that lots of people want.

I ordered a new compass for my boat (Ritchie F-83), which seemed to be in short supply . . . I might bring it over to the shop when it arrives.
