I Never Expected This!

Woke up this morning, flip on the tube and there's my high school in the home town where I grew up into my early twenties, all over the place. Another senseless act in a school! No family or friends involved, but still. Totally unexpected.

Yeah, Dawg. About twenty miles east of Pittsburgh. We see these stories all too often, but this one was too close to home. The same feelings too many of us have when catastrophe happens near by or in a place that has ties. What a waste!

Definitely a shame. Been all over it from the first responder side of the news. Definitely terrible. It is a shame we have to think and prepare for things like this. Kids should be innocent and able to enjoy their youth, not scared to go to school because someone is going to do bad things there. There is so much I want to say, but in the spirit of iboats policy to avoid religion and politics, I will keep my mouth shut and ask others to do the same. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families and friends.

It's been many decades since I've even been by the school. It's just the thought that a safe haven when I was young, has been defiled in a way. This kind of thing always happens somewhere else. I see the news stories of similar events and it's somewhere else. This time it was in a too familiar place.

Bless the kids and their families, they have to try to make some kind of sense out of this.

We do a motorcycle ride twice a year from Columbine High School, I never went there, but for some reason it still puts a lump in my throat.

Now we have Arapahoe High School, I dated a girl that went there, mind you many years ago, but during the shooting I knew several of the initial assault team members that went in, for some reason it has a much different feeling to me, no idea why.

There is no fame in the positive sense, we are dealing with coward's. This animal that chose to injure others, there's a special place for those, I do believe that.

Turn on MTV for a couple of hours and you will understand why the kids have no self respect.
