I bought my boat from a dealer in MN about 1000 ft and I live in NM about 5000 feet boat at 4200.
I know I need the smaller jets as the air fuel ratio will be better and will burn less fuel. Do I take out the screws and then the jets? Or do I have to remove the carb from the boat and then install the jets? I know about the size and where to get the new jets.
25 MAIN FUEL JET (.074) SEA LEVEL - 2500 FT. 1
- 072) 2500 - 5000 FT. This one should cover it.
- 070) 5000 - 7500 FT.
- 068) 7500 - 10,000 FT.

Don't need to remove the entire carb.

Don't know which engine (75, 85, or 90hp?) and carb you have, but you should be able to remove the float bowl, and the main jet is on the starboard side.

May require removing the float pin and float to access the main jet.

You may want to replace the gasket while you are at it.

Place a plastic bag under the carb, and tape it in place, to keep any little parts from falling down into the cowl area.

A repair manual would sure help you with this.
