Hey! I am new on this forum and have a question for all of you. I have been looking at getting a boat so I can fish in the North sea since I live close to the coast. I know I need to look for a boat that can handle small to medium sized waves since I will not be going out if it is pouring down with rain. I stumbled across an advertisement on a website where they sell boats in my region called Marktplaats (can I say the website, im really careful with the rules) Anyway I found a boat that has me interested but the only problem is I do not know what manufacturer made the boat to see if it is a boat that is well built. here is a picture of it (These pictures are not mine they are from the advertisement) if you know what boat this is it would be greatly appreciated

Probably built in the 1960's when fins were popular. Don't have any idea who built it but on a boat that old condition is everything. Wood rot could make it a big money hole.

I was thinking the boat pictured was made in the US when fins were popular. All I know about boats on your side of the pond is that my ancestors got on one in 1634 at Ipswich, Suffolk and left for here. That may be a newer boat than I thought. That being said condition is still very important when buying a used boat.

Cool lookin' boat!

In used boats, it's all about condition (and that should be true on either side of the ocean!) so maybe look over the BUYER'S CHECKLIST and see if that helps you evaluate it. It might be nice even if you really don't know what it is.

In the US we have a Hull ID Number stamped into the transoms (for boats after 1972). That helps with the detective work a lot. That one looks newer than the 60s, but I have no clue what it is.

Welcome aboard.

Thanks southkogs and dwco5051 I will go check it out when I have a day off and carefully go through every step on the checklist. So far on the pictures the transom looks fine but I will need to go and check everything thoroughly since the last thing I want is a money pit haha
