I need a new prop.

Ok..first be gentle as i am new to boating. So new I have not taken the boat out yet, but the person i bought the boat from said i need a new prop because the one that is on the boat is beat up. The boat is a 1969 16 foot larson tri hull-open bow. The engine is a 1975 i believe? johnson 85 Hp. Not sure if i need to give anymore info. What prop should i get?

Read the stickies at the top of the page.
There should be a number under the prop nut or on the barrel.
You may be able to get the prop repaired at a prop shop.Then do some test runs and get the info to us.Max rpm and speed.Describe the performance.

Steelespike is giving you good advice. If the prop is original it should have the size and a part# (probably supercieded) under the prop nut and washer. If has been replaced with a newer prop the size will be stamped on the barrel between the blades, some thing like 12 1/4 X 19 or 13 X 17. do not confuse this with repair stamps which will be 3 to5/6 numbers and maybe a couple of letters. If you can't find the size because its painted over or worn off any reputable repair shop will have a pitch gauge and can also tell you if it's worth repairing.
