Does anyone know where I can buy a Cannon plug to go in my engine compartment? I am currently rebuilding a set of Mercruiser 350's that started as bonafied model 250's. SN on the Port engine is 2631038. Now I have a Hodge Podge of parts. I think the only original part is the tranny. The other day I pulled engine # 2 and the wiring harness turned out to be hard wired in. I cut the 10 conductor cable in haste thinking it would be easy enough to find a 10 conductor cannon plug. WRONG ! Not easy for me anyway. I am trying to find one that will be somewhat oil resistent.

I think you will find that the plug alone is not available as a part from the marine outlets. Only the harness.

You may be able to find a used harness on Ebay and splice it.

Try a larger Radio Shack store. There are lots of electronic supply houses in most cities. Any of them should have vapor/oil/fuel/waterproof connectors.

Try going to the local airport and talk to the FBO, fixed base operator. Thre are hundred of cannon plugs out there for all sorts of applications. They can probably help you out with there supply cataloges. But be warned, boat parts Are cheap compaired to aircraft. On second thought, how about a fire wall feed thru harness off a truck or car at the local junk yard ? fred
