Sitting in the cockpit, sipping on a brew, and remembering the good folks and good times I had here. Many of you I never had the pleasure of meeting, some I have met. Life has been good and also a challenge. While my career has taken a big change to the best. Three boats to captain, numerous to look after, and a part time dockmaster right here at home. My family life is a lot different. I have a 33 year old, energetic, loving daughter now battling several types of cancer. She is here on the Island with me. We are good and I'm happy to be back here and hang out for a much longer time. I missed y'all!

Welcome home, Capt.! We missed you, also. Been trying to finagle a trip to south east FL to hang with you and the snapperbait ... it just has not happened yet.

I still want to know how you could be involved in the production of such a lovely lady?!? Praying for both of you.

God bless you and your daughter, I'll pass along a prayer also. My wife just lost a 16yo cousin to cancer this year. She put up a terrific fight to the end.

Makes me wonder too, Art. She is just like her Dad. Not much I could have done differently. The only difference is.....She is a hard worker. ;)

Wow, Buddy. sorry to hear this. 16? I didn't like my first post in a couple years to about this. It just happened this way. Pretty much terminal. Cancer in breast, lymph nodes, spine, ribs, kidney, and liver, I would give my life for her. We are both strong and will fight this. I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers. Let's celebrate life today!

Yes Sir I will take extra steps to keep you both in my prayers. I do know the stages and I hate to see the suffering. Many years ago I lost my father to stomach cancer. He weighed 98lbs at the end. Then my wife also last her father to brain cancer about 10 years ago. Thankfully he past quickly.

My hope is that heart disease gets me before a cancer does.

God Bless and go enjoy your daughters life!

This is true whether young or old. And I know this 1st hand.

So sorry cancer has affected your family. Runs in my family too. 3 grandparents, both my parents and me. We did some voluntary DNA testing to find out how much is hereditary. I don't know the results, the study is more for helping others that may be of high risk.

Thank you very much!
