I know somebody knows how to convert 9.9 hp johnson to 15 hp.I have just installed a new {15} omc powerhead on my 1980 9.9 and it runs great.But I have a 16 ft polarcraft with home made casting decks {heavy }and I want to go faster,a 15 is the bigest I can use where I fish.If anyone has made this conversion or any others that would help speed wise I could sure use the info

Yes, Slug0, it can be done if you want to spend a couple of grand on it and run it on nitro for the few hours it would last. By the way, it wouldn't idle or troll worth a flip. Being a wrench yourself you already know the price you must pay for big power increases.<br /><br />Your best bet, to be legal and keep reliability and flexibility in your motor, is to either lighten your boat or swap it for a 14' aluminum jon or semi-V. It would be a LOT cheaper.<br /><br />Tight lines.<br />JB
