I have everything back in the boat now I need to adjust the shift linkage

[my new fishmaster]

I have it close right now neutral is neutral but rev and forward are a little different one goes in a little faster. I have the long hex with the nut above for adj. Should I make it easier to go into forward or reverse or right in the middle?

IS IT PUMPING WATER YET THAT IS THE MAIN THING.THE GEARS YOU CAN PLAY WITH AS LONG AG THE HANDLE IS IN NETURAL AND PROP IS THE SAME DID YOU GET THAT INFO I SENT YOU ON LOWER UNIT

Everything is back in I started her up this morning without the thermo installed she ran great although I did notice some water coming out the exhaust. The telltale pee hole had plenty of water coming out a good steady stream. I have never seen another Force made by mercury run before. Do you have to wait untill the thermo opens to get water out the pee hole?
