Hello all
I'm trying to bring an old 12' Jon boat back to life, I've been looking for a motor, and came across this guy with a 15 HP Ted Williams... and he wants 200.00, I had mentioned I had a great running 1.75 gamefisher and he willing to trade straight up..... from what I've read i need to stay away from any Ted Williams outboard.... please advise before I make a mistake..

Seems like a decent trade to me. That doesn't mean I think the Ted W is a decent outboard, but I do think it is worth a bit more than your Gamefisher.

Frankly, I would be looking for a good JohnnyRude 9.5 to 15. You have enough restoring to do on the hull.

Thanks JB. But at this point I'm alittle tight on cash and every motor I come across is around 7-800.00, ill never use my little game fisher the way I intended to so I might just take a gamble on the Ted W.

Just make sure the 15hp run (water test). The last thing you want is dumping money into it.
