Re: I funny buddy story.

several years ago my brother & I went to a small private lake to fish , launched the small 1970's bass boat and realized after a few minutes and 2 inches of water on the floor he forgot the plug 150 miles away--soo we went to the shore and found a porperly sized stick- broke it to about 6 inches long, wraped it in a plastic bag and EUREAKA!!! we fished till Sunset catching several LMBass to 7lbs!

This gave me an idea. Boaters should wear a necklace with a plug on it.

We managed 9 days in Canada with a stick and bubblegum. We put on about 20 miles plus trolling all day long and it never leaked a drop.

Yeah, that would be comfortable, to sit with your head hanging over the transom all day long :D

Re: I funny buddy story.

not a problem on a 14' boat. becomes serious when you add a few feet and a closed hull.

But no need to panic; you can put anything--anything--across the hole from the outside and the water pressure will stop the flooding. If you can motor forward at a decent clip, on a plane is best--you drain the boat.
