How do I go about identifying a boat. What year it was made? It is a Sylvan- Model 18SMA. Suppose to be a 1984! Thanks, jps

The HIN number on the sterm will often have a date code. if not, call Sylvan with it and they can probably tell you as they are still going strong.

If it was made after 1973 it will have a date code in the hull id number, which is most commonly located at the top starboard side of the transom, on the outside.<br /><br />Post it here and someone will know.
