2 fishing poles in one day fishing yesterday. Also got my limit on trout. First pole was caught on the anchor while pulling it in and the second was from troling a little close to the bottom. I estimate from all the rust one was about 10 years old and the other about 18+. Both were not salvagable. This was at Big Lake in the Arizona White Mountains 9,000 feet above sea level. Last year I snagged an anchor rope w/anchor and cow bells with a fish at the end. You wonder what else is dow there? or is it just my luck???

As a scuba diver I can tell you. Anything that sinks.

Here's a list from most numerous.
1.Fishing tackle
2. Anchors
3.Flashlights
4.Ladders
5.Chairs
6.Rods/reels
7.Ice spuds
8.Knives/pliers
9. Lure retreivers

What you find has a lot to do with where you dive.
For instance, I dive the power plants in the Soo, and I find(except tackle) mostly wallets/purses that creeps have stolen and thrown in the river. Also find a lot of yellow flashlights that I assume the power plant employees throw away.
This area is my fav. place to scavenge dive.

There's a lot of free usable stuff down their, plus you get to see where the fish like to hangout.

My brother hung and pulled out 2 flat bottom boats! Got salvage on them and sold them!

Re: I caught...

.. The ungliest smallmouth bass I have ever seen. Came out of Gun Lake, Michigan. Actually it was my nephew Patrick that caught it opening day. This was a big male. Went about 3 1/2 lbs, and was 19" long. His tail had a hunk out of it, one of the fins was jagged as if attacked, he had a scrape along his side, and one eye was missing and glazed over as if it had been gone a long time. My nephew insisted on throwing him back. "Great", sez I, "now we will have a whole lake full of ugly, one eyed smallmouths".

All the best,

Mick
