I can´t find the model nr. only the serielnr. on my Johnson 40Hp

On the "plug" on top of the engine block I have find a number that I think is the seriel number (C7103656). I cant find the plate on the right side of the motor.<br />Ist possible to find out what model number the engine have whit help of the seriel number?<br />p.s If life was a spelling competition I<br /> have been a loser......but Im not.

I think that you are going to need the model number. That is often on the top front of transom swivel plate. <br /><br />Can you attach a photo of it, especially the hood? <br /><br />One other way is to go out on eBay and look at photos of Johnson 40s that are for sale. See if one matches yours.
