I have the 96 75hp force its like new but does not have the spank I need. Pros its light and when trailered does not mess up the boat. Who has the best prices on a yamaha 90 or 115 also I would be interested in a johnson or evinrude 115 if the price is good. Would the 3 cyl or 4cyl be better? Fundage is a priority and I do not want to break the bank. Does anyone know a dealer that has the brand new johnsons/evinrudes 98 or newer for a great price. My boat is rated up to 125hp.

Hey, If you are looking for a great deal on an engine, depending on where you live, try and find a marina near a fresh water lake. they might have some pretty nice deals on used outboards and since they have been driven in fresh water, they are likely to be in good shape.

as for the number of cylinders, the more cylinders, i find the better the pick up you will have. the trade off is worse fuel economy. your best bet is to overpower because when you have a boat that is a hog, it really sucks.
dave

DO NOT overpower your boat, Fishmaster!! And take no stock in any advice you get to do that, or anything else that risky. Boating is dangerous enough without asking for trouble.

What boat is your FORCE on, and what Max HP is it rated for? What performance do you get now, doing your favorite things? Keep in mind that your FORCE is rated at the crank, rather than at the prop, so it compares to a Merc or OMC 60.

Red sky at night . . .
JB :)

FishMaster, I just sold my 1995 70 Hp Force
for $2000.00 with the controls I had a lot of calls I think I sold it too cheap but it is gone and no dealer would take it as a trade at any price. I hope that info might help you a little.
