Annual pilgrimage to the mall. I must really love my family and friends to face this challenge. If I don't make it back, tell my wife the leftover coupons are in my jacket pocket.

In my younger days, this is when I would do most of my shopping for the holidays. Being late in the game, most of the holiday carnage is over and the 50% off tags are coming out.

Lately, I have found a sweet spot in early December that is after Black Friday and before the mall madness of mid-December.

Good luck, we'll keep the light house going so you can navigate your way out.

Well we finished up all our Christmas shopping this morning. And I am glad we don't have to fight the crowds anymore. You are brave and we will send help if you're not back by Valentines day. :pound:

Merry Christmas everyone! :thumb:

Going in early this year, Angus? You're supposed to go about 4 o'clock on the Eve to get the final markdowns.

We'll watch for distress flares! Mall cops don't monitor Channel 16. :joyous:

The last present arrived yesterday, all of the kids cards were sent out last week, got the prime thawing out in the fridge, now I just have to get out there and plow again! Darn sure I am going to have a White Christmas, every time I walk out the door, I hear Bing singing away!

Plowing again - lucky guy MT. Here in Buffalo, I'm just waiting for some frigid air to come rolling across that Lake and we'll finally be in! Well, I guess high 60's will make it nicer to work on the sleds.

Angus, back when I used to brave the mall with my buddy, we figured you're much more productive (pressed) by going at this time. And the selection is more focused (bare shelves)

Angus, you're a kindred spirit. I tell my wife that I wait until the 24th so I don't have so many decisions to make. She doesn't seem to see the humor.

We're kind of in a unique position. My B-day is tomorrow and hers is the following day. Needless to say the Christmas season is different for us.

Good luck and leave something left for me.

Mission accomplished. It didn't kill me, so I must be stronger. I couldn't wrap up air fresheners and ice scrapers again this year without a good lawyer! ; )

Amazon for what little I buy. Wife and I don't do gifts, but this year we have a 'kid' and her kid staying with us so amazon was a bit more costly for me this year.

I did all my shopping online this year. Amazon for everything except one item. Took the boy to WalMart so he could buy a gift for his mom, but that was my only excursion to a store for holiday shopping. Only way to go! :)

I just got back!
It must be the eye of the storm between 2 and 4 PM, because it was not that bad.

I went venturing today. Knowing how to take the back roads and alleys around the malls saves a lot of time.

My Ho Ho Hum moment came at one of the big retailers. There service, Telecheck, declined my check. After making it home I called to see why. It wasn't due to lack of funds. It was due to lack of history with them. I have had this account for 15 years and have written less than 250 checks. The reason a check was used was I "lost" my wallet last week. It was found by a guy I know about 2 miles from my house. It ending up being run over more then a few times and all the cards were shattered.

Cash has been king for my shopping this Holiday season.

Merry Christmas to all.

With the exception of my Granddaughters new laptop and my sons surround sound system everyone is getting gift cards this year. Keep it simple I say.
