I hope you men and or ladies don't get too mad for me putting this here. I did not know where else to put it. I have had many outboards big, small, old, new I have never had an outboard motor that I am so proud to own. It is just so versatile, and easy to handle. It always ( and I mean always ) runs so good and I get va-clempt when I go out to the garage and see it or when someone comes up to me and says man how old is that little motor it looks new, and it runs way better than I thought it would. I am like a proud papa.

I know how you feel. I've a special fondness for my motors and very proud of the way they perform. Funny thing is, I really enjoy fixing them but they don't give me all that much trouble once I've given them a good work over. My first one was an Evinrude 1982 15HP that had been robbed of parts and left for dead for 10 years. It runs like a top and although I gave it away I still get to use it at my buddies cabin once or twice a year. Rick.

Yes I know when I get to the lake no matter how long it sits it will fire right up and run like a sewing maching, steady and smooth. I just love the old gal.

Mine loves to run a full throttle. But I can Idle around my lake fishing docks and piers and it will never even hiccup. And when I am finished I look at the fuel gauge and it looks like it has not used any fuel.

I know the feeling ... been in love with my small OB's many times ... LOL I own this 1981 Johnson 9.9 which I own since new. It's never been touched by tools and runs incredibly smooth and quiet, idles like it's falling asleep. I might have changed the plugs once ... (not sure ... lol)

My pride and joy at any boat ramp ...

Re: I absolutely love My 85 15hp evinrude

I enjoyed my 74 'rude 15 fastwin electric remote for many years. But the (absolutely necessary) maintenance chore of annual points/condenser changes (real PITA), and the usual 2-stroke smoke, noise, oil mixing, and poor economy led me to a new Nissan 9.8. Considering that we are only one refinery fire or act of terrorism away from returning to $4-$5 gas, I expect it to pay for itself in fuel consumption alone before it's retired.

It's a public quotation in referal to anything being better than work ... using fishing as a reference. But if you'r not going to work every day like me (retired) some days fishing are not as good as others .... LOL

Same feeling when I pull up in my little truck with my little tinny in tow. But when I give the old Johnson one or two pulls and off I go always puts a smile on my face.
