i read champion trailers website ,,,and it sounds like they are suggesting on lighter than 3,000 lb loads to use drum brakes ,,,,,,,,,i have my heart set on using the disc brakes from kodiak,,,,how ever this artical now has me thinking ,,,,,,,,,,anyone have experiance with the disc brakes on light loads...

contact kodiaks tech services.<br /> I have seen the stainless disc set up on light loads with surge brakes with no problems. the electric acuator has a tendancy to lock the trailer wheels in certain situations. best will be to call the manufacrer of the braking system and tell them what the trailer is and ask for a reccomendation on actuators and brakes assy.

If you ever plan to drop your rig in salt water get the disc brakes. Mine were made by Tie Down Engineering in Atlanta.
