hydrofoil

should the hydrofoil be in the water or on top of the water? My motor is set so the foil rides just under the water about one inch. Several people here have said the "x" dim needs to be as high as possible, which is correct? I have a stingray XP foil.

The fin should be out of the water when youre on plane. If its underwater, its pulling the back of the boat down. Especially if you trim out any. Think about it.<br /><br />Keep in mind that the fin is a tool that allows you do do other things like raise the motor(increase the X dimension). <br /><br />The good news is that the Stingray is pretty small so any negative effect should be mimimized at your present height.
