I have a 1984 Bayliner with a Volvo-Penta AQ125B 4 cylinder engine. This afternoon I was cruising along at approx. 4500 rpm when the engine slowed down by itself, I shut it off and then it wouldn't turn over. After some research, I found water in all 4 cylinders, which I cleared out. Now when I try to start, it turns over rather fast, like low compression. I checked the timing belt, and it appears to have all the teeth on the belt stripped off. How did the engine get hydro-locked, and the timing belt stripped? Which happened first? Before today the boat ran like a top!
