i own a 1993 40hp johnson,i think the tilt assist is not working.i bought the motor used so idon't know how it is suposed to work.when you select the lever to tilt the motor does noy move is this normal? i pulled the cowl right off trying to lift the motor last weekend while out fishing and ended up on my butt looking up at my laughing kids.there is 2 cap plugs on the unit they look like filler plugs can you just add hydraulic oil in the up position? you can hear fluid squirting inside when you manually lift the motor when putting on the trailer. i thought that a tilt assist brought the motor up to a hieght that would make it a lot easier to lift.any help would be appreciated
