Hydraulic Steering Question

I have a 2004 Tahoe Q3 with 90hp Merc and was considering upgrading to a hydraulic system. I currently have a dual cable set up and steering from right to left was smooth and easy however going left to right was an absoulute chore. I know that there are several factors to consider here: prop torque, grease,..... Well, I removed the cables from the motor and the motor was very hard to move and that is putting it lightly. It took two men to break it free and we kept moving it back and forth until it loosened. The only bad thing is that to remove the cable from the tilt tube I have to pull the motor due to space restrictions. The cable will pull out about half way and then it bends to much going in to the boat to remove it the rest of thre way. To make matters worse both cables pulled right out of the rack, which was also bent, and the helm has a hair line crack in it. So an enitre steering system is needed. To replace the existing system "Teleflex SS152" would cost me about $400-$450, I found the Teleflex BayStar system which is designed for 150 hp and less outboard for $439 at the cheapest. I know it usually runs anywhere from $500-700. Needless to say to ordered the Baystar system and I am waiting for it to come in. Do you think I made the right choice?
