Hydraulic pump

On a Merc 1150, (1976 or '77) the tilt/trim pump works sometimes, sometimes not. The solenoid clicks, but pump does not start. This makes for tough times while trying to get under way with motor tilted up. Gotta mess with it to get motor up, to trailer. Any ideas???<br /><br />mbatte

Sounds like another bad solenoid on the board today. You could try swapping the solenoids but if it were me I would just replace it. They are not very expensive and would be a bear to swap. If you can get to it, you can verify it is bad by jumping the 2 bigger wires on it.

could also have worn brushes in the pump mtr.Check the sol. first as IBNFSHN writes.
