Hey guys, I'm Jake. I'm new to posting here, but I've been reading a ton on this site. There is a lot of great information here! I bought a 1982 pro-craft with a 1978 mercury 1400 ob. The hydraulic hoses on the trim were all kinked and one was leaking, so I ordered all 4 on ebay. The smaller 2 cables fit fine, but when I went to put on the larger cables, the threads would tighten down4 turns, and then the bolt just slips and stays on that thread. I screwed the old one back in, and it snugged down well, and I looked at the female threads in the cyl, they seemed fine aswell. The new hydraulic hose has a smaller diameter (1/2) compared to the old one (5/8). I'm guessing the nipple is just too big for the 1/2 and so the male hydraulic bolt won't go in far enough?? Does anybody have any thoughts or suggestions before I go through the long arduous process of attempting to return something purchased on ebay?
