Hurth transmission

My Transmission has gone on my Universal 35 B Westerbeke 35HP looking for guidance. Have heard that the ZF 15 MA (Hurth } is possibly a lemon does anyone have experience I am considering changing out with Newage 120 but engine needs to be raised. Are there any other options or upgrades ?

I always thought the Hurth was a good transmission. Check around, perhaps the guy wants to sell you whats best for HIM and not necessarily whats best for you. Try Marinedirect.com if you don't find one on iboats. I should actually say check iboats for one, if not try marinedirect.com since iboats puts up this forum and puts up with me and Ken.
