Bought a "New" 2008 Hurricane 232FD GS I/O with a 350MAGB1. Has only 1hr. on it. Read all the information that I could find about Hurricanes. We will be using it on a lake that can get choppy sometimes. I see from the posts that I may be experiencing some plop, rock, and even some splash. However - it is mostly calm and a good tubing, skiing, fishing lake. The boat is big and heavy and I don't think it will be a problem. It did not come with a bow middle cushion. I called the local Hurricane dealer about getting this cushion, but have gotten no response. Wondering if the dimensions are different than the new - 23' Hurricanes - making it impossible to order. I would also like to have the telescoping ski pole, but do not know if it can be installed on my boat. This option can be gotten on new ones.
I expect the boat to be a whole lot of fun with all the space and decks front and back. Hoping to take it out this weekend. Will post again after it's maiden voyage.

Re: Hurricane expectations

Congratulations on the Hurricane!

I had the telescoping ski pylon installed on my boat. Get ready to spend some bank! Dealer cost of the pylon alone is over $600. My local boat repair shop did the install, not easy either. Per instructions from Godfrey, we needed to fiberglass in a support between the rear seat and the splashwell. But it is super cool!

I had a friend make my filler bow cushions... See link of with pics

You're gonna love the your boat! It's gonna fly with a 350MAG!

Re: Hurricane expectations

Thanks bear,
Loved your links to all your redos. I have a brother-in-law who has restored several Cudas and has a warehouse of Cuda parts. Have contacted Hurricane dealer for center cushion and they want $800+. I made one for my Sea Ray bowrider, but it was a lot narrower. The space on the Hurricane is quite large. I cannot see how it would work without underneath leg support. Would like to know what the base is like on the purchased one. Dealer says that I cannot have a ski pylon ~ but they could install a stationary one ~ I bet it also would have to be reinforced.
