My 1975 hurricane has those same cracks like you are saying, Mine are smaller in width though. At first i thought the transom was toast but after smacking and pulling and prying on it it seems it is okay. I think it is something they have been doing for a while. I have no problems with the cracks. I got the boat for free so what can i say.
