Hello,

I bought a used Hurricane 211 and was disappointed that it did not have the front live well aerator and fill/empty controls even though it was represented as having it. Instead it is just the tank/cooler with a drain in the bottom. My question is ... I would like to add a pump, controls, and run tubing lines to it from the back. However, I don't see any obvious path from the back to the front. Is there any diagram available for these boats, or any advice on how this might be accomplished? If someone has a 211 or other model with the front well, how does the plumbing travel. In any case, I'd like to simulate however the factory install would have been.

Thanks

I?m not sure I?m giving you much to go on, but I?ll share what I have.

I have a 2012 SD237 I/O that I ordered the front baitwell option on. Although it?s at the dealer, as I write this, due to the bait well pump not pumping water to the tank (it runs, just no water flowing). The pump, hosing and transom mounted water pick-up is all located and runs along the starboard side of the boat. The pump is accessible through an access plate installed under the cabinet area under the fresh water sink. My model has a dual console; I believe the 211 is a center console (correct?), so access is somewhat different. My I/O hull design also allows more interior access over the outboard designed hulls.

The tank has a supply hose coming in near the top of the starboard side of the tank. It has a fitting on the end with a screw type water control devise to adjust water flow into the tank. To plug the drain, there is a long hard plastic tube with a threaded end that screws into the drain hole. The other end has a screened cover on the tube to allow the tank to fill up with water and drain out the top end of the tube. The drain tube is connected to a hull fitting to complete the path. It?s operated from a switch located on the helm console. My previous boat had dual baitwells that had a recirculating feature that periodically turned the pump on and off, this way the pump wasn?t always running. Hurricane doesn?t offer this feature that I?m aware of.

You may want to check with a local Hurricane dealer in your area and have them quote you on installing one of these systems (they may actually have installed one or two in their lifetime), it may not be too bad in price, or have fun doing it yourself (maybe you and/or a friend are skinny enough to get the tubing run)!

Good luck, hope this helped a bit.
