:D :D He's munching on a poplar tree I cut down for them. I'm hoping he is one of the 5 small bucks I let go by last year.If the neighbor up the road sees him he's a goner. Next fall will be the third year we let the small ones go and I hope one of us can get big one.

PS If its in the yard its off limits. Unless my wife is at work! :)

Season already over? And we get to kill two per day and for almost three months. You get tired of trying to give the meat away...

A 2 liter pop bottle over the end of a .22 rifle works pretty slick. Your neighbors won't hear a thing

Decent buck OMC. I know what I would do. Get some corn and throw out about a one gallon bucket every day all winter and summer. That'll keep him around your place, and most importantly OFF the neighbors place. Looks like some thick cover right there to keep him happy. He should be a dandy next year.

I finally got the one that hung out in my back yard during shotgun season. Wife is now a bit sad, but her taste buds and belly are satisfied. :D There will be more to take its place in the yard and freezer next year! :p

Flathead, That thicket right behind him is about a 2 acre patch of dense sanctuary cover that we keep off limits to humans. We are in the process of trying to build better habitat. We did some small clear cutting so we can get some field crops in. And the neighbor that owns the land behind me is building a pond. We are both bored with shooting yearling bucks plus the hunting in the county we live is getting real bad so we are making our own good hunting area.Hopefully!

How about if me an SS ship you folks up some deer from Ohio....we got plenty......and we don't even have to help them out...LOL! That's an interesting thing you folks are doing. Now if you can keep the human factor out and control preditors, the herd will expand and grow. Around here, the deer can be a problem at times though. They get so bold as to come into town and eat out of peoples gardens not to mention shrubs and what not. So do be aware they can get to the point of being a nuisance. Hope the project pays off for ya'.

If he is a "nuisance pest" around here, you can shoot him.

If you want, I can fax you a Nuisance Pest permit to exterminate.

Hey OMC if you put out feed under a piece of fence you can usually find the sheds.... just a thought for next year. A local hunter has a piece of page wire fence only about 6' long and set at an angle.... puts deer feed under the fence and has scored some nice sheds over the years... actually legal to do.

I agree Flathead!

I went out today and found the left antler, He has been bedding about 100 yards to the left of where the picture was taken. I also found a billy buck that the coyotes got. Yesterday we had a small 5 pointer chasing the does around all day. Maybe tomorrow I will look some more and see if I can find the other antler.
