1994 no model # need transducer. SPT-6-16

Hello,
I bought a fishfinder around 1994, it was a great little portable, used it for many years with no problems, also great in ice.
Last summer I got a boat for fishing and was using it, hind sight tells me I should have mounted it on the other side of the boat that way I wouldn't have hit the cord to the transducer with the new trolling motor, now it is under the Huron River. I called Hummingbird and they said I can't get it from them, to old, I know that I should just buy a new one and that may be my only option butt I would sure like to find one even if I have to buy the whole unit. Got any ideas?

I am still using one of the wide eyes that was made around the same time frame, and last year when I needed to replace a cracked face plate I found on on e bay. One from their wide series will work. In fact I am looking for one of the side scan transducers my self.

Re: Hummingbird WIDE ONE portable

Hey Bad dog,
I went on ebay and bought a Hummingbird 100SX, I saw the picture and the thing was working, didn't see all the details. I bought it from the buy it now category for $69.95 delivered. After it got here I see that it had been returned once. the buyer said that the screen was dim so he checked it out and indeed the screen was dim, so he sent me two screens, one for a Wide 128, the dim one, and one for a 100SX it has a 455 transducer, and in a bucket of water the depth is all over, he also mentioned that the transducer had a line repair. I am an electrician by trade, I know that you don't repair or splice some things like thermocouple wire and transducers in my field. When I use the screen for my wide one I get a good depth but I don't think it's quite right, I think mine, the original wide one was a dual beam, this is a single. There are some good buys on ebay for the wide one, some unused in the original still with the box. I'm thinking about returning this.

I was able to find a side scan that was now old stock and its installed and working fine., But like any thing you buy in flea bay you have to be careful.

Re: Hummingbird WIDE ONE portable

I did some more investigation, obtained manuals for all three that I have and a list of transducers and they all match. I may be onto something good.
Thanks
