Humminbird transducer, speed/temp sensor locations

I have a 28' flybridge boat with a single prop and fixed trim tabs. I have a humminbird depth finder that came with the transom mount transducer and i bought the speed/temp sensor(which is the small wheel type). I read that the transducer gets mounted with the bottom of the transducer 1/8" below the hull. Is that true? And the speed/temp sensor I don't know where it would go. Would that get installed at the point where the bottom paint meets the topside paint? If not where would it go?

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer, but you may want to move this to the electronic section (where the guys that are a lot smarter than me lurk).

Correct on transducer.

Mine is mounted at the bottom of the transom side, at the same angle as deadrise. ie the wheel has to be exposed to the moving water. Keep it away from any strakes.
