Has anyone ever had a case where a Humminbird keeps turning off after about 2-3 minutes of operation? It happens all the time and is aggravating. It was installed on the boat when I got it, so I don't know the exact wiring answers, but I could probably find out.
Thanks,
Steve

Hey skipper... have you had any electrical work done lately, or any work done around your wiring, noticed you have another post about vhf problems.Could be a short causing your problems, or a problem with something else on the same wire having a problem.

Jim

Check the voltage on your battery. If the voltage drops too low the Humminbird will cut off. Also measure the voltage where the Humminbird gets power, it may be lower than the battery due to length of wire or too small a gauge.

Thanks for the ideas. I have had the problem for 3 years. I know, how could I leave this for so long. I have another depth gauge on the boat that I use that works fine. I'll check the voltage and the gauge of the wire supplying power to it.
Skipper

Sometimes my humminbird shuts off when restarting the engine. Calls to HB tech said it was a voltage issue.
