I had a mechanic at a boat shop ask me what type of hull was on my 1985 26' CC 260 (same as 253) and I told him I thought it was a semi-planing hull. The survey we had done before we bought it called it a "modified V". What is the correct term for the style of hull on the CC 260?

over...

What is a Deep V hull considered - a planing, displacement, semi-planing, semi-displacement or something else?

Thanks for the info!

Another question: Is it normal to have 3+ seperate bilges?
We have had a leak in the black water tank which is up front under the v-berth. The water accumulates because of bulkheads and seperations along the hull do not allow it to run to the engine bay bilge.

over...

My 26' Tolly is a modified V type of planing hull but it has a fairly large keel as well. Tollys have 2 seperate areas in the bilge with 3 pumps. :)
