I would like to install a bow mount trolling motor on my 1996 maxum 19 feet. I spoke with a tech guy in a boat dealer and he told not to do that because my boat wasn't made for that kind of use. Unless I find a way to re-inforce the hull by adding a 3/4'' plywood or a metal plate underneath.
I was a bit confused because I read a lots of threads here regarding guys that has made modifications to their bowrider to fit a trolling motor.
What should I do? I want to install a 55 pounds thrust trolling with 54 inch of shaft.
