HPDI oil pump pushrod length adj. after break in???

Talking to fellow fisherman yesterday who has 200 HPDI also, he said his mechanic told him HPDI should have the oil pump pushrod length modified after break in to make it inject less oil??? Is there any truth to this? Just started break in on new powerhead after original one spit piston pieces after 56 hrs. Trying to learn as much as I can about the idiosyncrasies of this motor/technology. It is starting to make the Kugelfischer injection pumps in Early Porsche's sound like nothing.<br /><br />Now have 15 HP 4 stroke Yammie in kicker bracket, don't want to be caught out with guard down at a bad time.

hello<br /> while I was playing with tech bulletins I looked for any concerning 150 hpdi oil pump rods. I did not find any. set the rod as per the sevive manual and hope for the best. good luck and keep posting. yammy swear no problems with HPDI but dealers and techs are seeing otherwise.
