HP Rating

Good morning all. Just purchased a 1988 Sea Sprite Mark II with 4.3L Mercruiser and Alpha I. My question is what should the HP be on this motor. I have seen the new ones showing 190 HP and was told by the dealer that it was "probably" around 175 HP. Any information would be appreciated.

That's a great question! This is my first time with an I/O. Can you let me know what it would be either way and I can check later this afternoon. The boss doesn't seem to think a new boat is a good excuse for taking a long lunch.

I think the specs were 170hp with a 2bbl and 190 with a 4bbl but not 100% sure. The new ones with fuel injection are 220 I think.
