I've been searching and havent had much success so I'm going ahead and posting this question. If I'm mistaken and there's a post somwhere else, please direct me to it.

Specifically, I live in San Antonio (so South Texas). I'm on a one year lease with my marina to have an open air slip and keep the boat in the water. It's a 21' Tracker with a 50hp outboard. My question to anyone who can answer is what is the proper/correct way to winterize a 'toon when leaving it *IN* the water? My thoughts are to fill the gas tank and add stabil, fog the motor after unhooking gas line, and put a moisture absorber under the cover. Is that correct or am I completely missing something and leaving some items out?

FWIW, I plan on taking it out in spring and having it serviced (lubed, plugs, etc/whatever) and a few things repaired.

TIA,

Welcome aboard Oak. In your neck of the woods there's really no need to winterize like those poor saps in the midwest have to.:p However, your plan is solid, although I'm not sure what disconnecting the fuel line will accomplish.

Before disconnecting your fuel line, check your engine manual. Most recommend against this old practice.

I'm assuming it's a carbed motor. Different for fuel injected.
