Help again:
Have a 1973 Larson boat, The motor has been changed, it has a Mercury 1000, 100 HP, the boat has a tachometer but it isn't hooked up. Years ago I knew how to wire thes things up but have forgot where the wires go on the motor on one this old. Thanks for any help.

as long as the tach is set up for that motor or has adjustable pole settings your ok. run a wire from either yellow wires that hook up to the rectifyer on the motor.

I'm not sure if it is or not, the boat is a 1973, someone replace the motor with a 1965 Mercury 1000 100 hp, I will check and see, Thanks for your fast answer.

most of the aftermarket tachs are adjustable. you can search their sites for instruction manuals for specific wiring

The old style tachs were ignition driven and the new style tachs are alternator driven.

find the make and model number of the tach. if its a quicksilver, some models were engine specific
