Hi all!

Well i decided to open another thread... Here it goes... I have a Chaparrall signature 31 1997 with two VP 5.7 GLi engines & DP drives. Since it's my first boat with two drives, i don't know how to operate the controls properly. It's a Volvo control box with 2 up&down buttons on the left lever and another switch under the right lever that can be switched either right or left. Can any 1 explain how to use those 3 switches?

BTW, how the heck do you know if the flaps are down or up??

Thanx

Re: How to use trim switches on volvo twin control box

i think that i understand your question.

I have a 24' Fjord Express cruiser with twin engines.
It has two separate controls for the trim; one per engine.
Each control has three buttons: Down/Down Up/Up
To get one of my stern drives to go down, i simply push the down button.
To get one of my stern drives to go up, I have to push both "Down Up" AND the "Up" buttons simultaneously.

I hope that this answered your question?!

Hi gmoody!

Thanx for the answer, but I still don't get it. I have 3 buttons:

button one (on the left lever, has up/down positions) - i assume for the port drive
button two (on the left lever, has up/down positions) - i assume for the stbd drive
buton three (on the right lever, has left/right position) - have no clue what it's for
