How to unhook driveshaft,,98 GSX

I need to pull the motor on my buddys 1998 GSX with a 951 motor. I already have the carbs off,exhaust looks easy now as do the motor mounts and other bolts,my question is,,,is the motor on some kind of lovejoy coupler to the impeller,or do I need to tear something apart in the shaft. Any info much appreciated.

haaaaa they have a carbon seal and you have to move the stainless cup forward to access the clip under the cup then slide the cup back toward the engine , then remove the pump and the driveshaft comes out the back of the ski, if you take the pump off first you can't push the stainless cup back as the drive shaft will just move.

Would the stainless cup be right behind the motor inside the boat.. You also said "you have to move the stainless cup forward to access the clip under the cup then slide the cup back toward the engine " do I slide the cup to the back of the boat first,,,then back toward the engine.

it is behind the p t o and you move it toward the rear of the boat to access the clip, loosen the boot clamps and it will be easier to push , there are 2 rubber seals in it so spray a little oil under it to help it slide on the drive shaft
