I have a2004 DF50 Suzuki remote control it has a blinking check eng. lite. Not sure how interpret the beeps it beep--beep--------beep--beep would that be a 1-1 or 2-2. First time for code beeps.
Background, low hours (200) because it was N.O.S. from dealer, starts and runs great, idles good, did the oil change & canellation as per owners manual also have the suzuki service manual, a 1-1 is Rectifier& regulator a 2-2 is CTP switch.
If it were code 1-5 exh manifold sensor I could figure the pauses.

1-1 is Rectifier & regulator overcharging I think so if the voltage reads good with a meter the I would think it is 2-2

1-1 is the most common code, clean all battery terminals also Battery switch terminals, keep alive wire terminals.
charge and check the battery.
let the motor run for a few minutes it might clear by itself if the battery system is good.
if not you will have to check out the rectifier regulator.

COUNT THE FLASHES OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!

Find a motor manual and it will tell you what all the beeps and flashes mean. Even if you have to buy one from a dealer. Then, and only then, take it in for required repair (if any) ...

Re: how to understanding the code beeps

Thank you for the help I'll clean all the terminals and batteries. the beeps and the flashes seem to coincide with each other, so very sorry for that mistake, won't happen again. And to YOU dealer mechanics, FYI there are no Suzuki dealers on the Kona side of the Big Island of Hawaii, just mechanics who claim to know what there are doing, thus the need for a service manual. So if any one is suggesting I should pitch the manual away, say so. It very well may be the rectifier & regulator.

I wish everyone owned a service manual for their motor, it would make things a lot easier. They should give them out along with the owners manual when you buy a motor for the price you pay.
Does your manual say how to check the rectifier/regulator? I would think it would be a simple test with a meter

Re: how to understanding the code beeps

The manual does tell you how to check the rectifier with a VOM (volt ohm meter)but it also says to use a suzuki VOM because any other may not read the same. ?? I have a radio shack vom. I got a dead reading for the 3 wire check (y1 y2 y3) pg.4-3 I also checked charge coil (w1 w2 w3) it was .40 book calls for .56-84 ohm, no higher, so there is a difference. CTP cd 2-2 is a continuity check, on or off, it checks OK. Can not check ECM because you need test cords so I'll check Brownspoint and buy the test stuff I need. Or I'll just do what these so called mechanics do here, change parts until something works, then charge for it all.

Re: how to understanding the code beeps

I know that most manuals tell you to use a peak reading volt meter or a DVA adapter with a regular meter to take the voltage readings , but I have not seen where they say anything about using special meters for ohm readings. Just to make sure it has a low enough setting and that you measure the lead resistance and subtract that from the final reading.

Not sure what you mean by "I got a dead reading for the 3 wire check (y1 y2 y3)",
Is that a dead short or an open reading?

A lot of times you can back probe the connectors with small stiff wires(pins or paper clip) while avoiding hurting any of the insulation, to take some readings without the test harness

beeps are beeping to code when the engine is not running.
(a dealers worst nightmare!)= a dealer that thinks he has a clue!
ps their's no need to shout

It turned out to be the rectifier/regulator just put new one on. I'll be back on the water when the weather settles down. They have already caught a 1011#&971# marlin in the last 30 days. May be another one out there looking for my skiff.
