How to Trim

Hello,<br /><br />I am new to boating and am learing how to trim teh boat up (17.7' Haines Hunter)<br /><br />How do I know when its trimed?<br /><br />Down seems good, lift it up a but and it revs more but no more speed, how do I know when its in teh right spot?<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Rhys :)

Don't know if this procedure is correct but it works for me. Trim down all the way, take your boat to plane and then about 3/4 to a little less than full throttle, once you've done that start trimming up slowly, "bumping" the trim up, keep bumping until you notice the boat starts porpoising (bouncing) then trim down until it smooths out. This should be your ideal trim setting. Go out and play with it, you'll find a method that works best for you.<br /><br />DougV>
