How to test CDI Power Pack testing ... A helpful website.

I searched the forums here and found the issue with my power pack. In the mean time I found a website that shows what you should see on every CDI/ power pack and on which lead you should see it.

1. Find the model number of your CDI/ power pack
2. Go here http://WWW.cdielectronics.com/Products.aspx?Criteria=1A3
3. Find your CDI / power pack.
4. Click the link that says 'install sheet' under the pic of your cdi
5. A PDF comes up that shows each lead and what to expect when testing with a volt meter.

This helped me quit a bit. I hope it helps you too. I've gotten a ton of help here but never had much to contribute as a beginner. I did a search and didn't find this information. If this is a duplicate, I apologize.

Thanks for the heads-up fixitrod....

CDI is well known here; but they are a great company and deserve another mention.

I bought a Stator from them; great customer service.

Actually...I bought the stator from one of their dealers; it pays to shop around because CDI prices tend to vary all over the place.

It's interesting that a lot of retailers sell CDI products as if they were their own exclusive.....you don't always notice until you see CDI as a part of the SKU....

This doesn't seem to work anymore. Does anyone know where I can find instructions on how to test a powerpack for a 1979 Johnson 6hp ?
I'm wanting to test from the beginning to end to confirm everything is working correctly. There must be someone who has posted this clearly with steps.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
