I need a new male quick disconnect fitting that attaches to the 1/4" threaded hole in the suction tube on the portable plastic gas tank. These seem to be a "pre 1991" and "post 1991" style, and of course I need to know which I have. My boat is a 1991 hull, but I don't know when the prev owner bought the outboard - I have assumed it was in '91 or maybe '92, but am not sure.
All I know is the manual says it is a "BF8A", it is a long shaft, and the two serial numbers: BACL 1204397 (frame serial number) and BACE 1207405 (engine serial number). The parts selector on this site's store has models that end in a 5th character, but I don't know how to map my ser nums to that, or where to look in the manual or motor to get it. My best guess is a BF8AM, based on trying to decode the serial numbers (I am not sure which to use).
