How to tell year on older Nissan?

Howdy all. Just wanted to know if there was a website or somehwhere I could check the year of a Nissan 9.9hp outboard I recently purchased. (I'm guessing it is a late 80's or early 90's motor but just wanted to know,)<br /><br />Model # is NS 9.9B2

as long as it is a 9.9B2, thats all youll ever need to get parts or service, you can go to tohatsu.com and call the corperate 1800phone number and ask them , give them your serial number, i have done that before...<br /><br />but seriously, it doesnt matter. all you ever need to know is it is a 9.9b2 and thats it<br /><br />have fun with it..... <br /><br />btw, how did the steering work out for you, didnt you add external steering?

Mike, just got the T&R clamp kit in on Wed. "Looks" like it will do the job. I finished replacing the water pump last night but only had 1 tube of marine gear oil, and it wasn't quite enough. I'm hoping to get both the steering and control box & cables hooked up and working tonight. (We'll see.)<br /><br />Thanks for all your help so far.
