How can I make sure my boat is running at a normal temp? I think my gauge might be bad.

Does a 1991 OMC 4.3 have an overheating alarm?

I felt my risers yesterday, after an hour of running and they were kinda hot, by that I mean you could keep your hand on them for about 10 seconds.

Fix the gauge, look at the engine, does it have an alarm switch for an alarm? If not, they are fairly easy to build, or you can buy kits. Hard to say if your engine has an alarm or not without looking.

Man.....Fix your gauges. Operating your boat without gauges is like driving a car with your eyes closed.

I installed a pressure gauge, so if my temp gauge started acting funny; I would know the impeller was still good.
Just a thought.
