How to tell # clyider?

I have a force 88' "D" 50 hp 2 cyl. and wanted to know if the top cylinder would be the # 1 or 2?

In general, top cylinder is number one.

All Chrysler/Force multi-cylinder engines are numbered from the top. For example, a three cylinder would be from the top 1,2,3.

If you are going to do any work on your engine I would strongly suggest buying a manual, or treking to your local library and see if you can check one out. You'll save SO much of your hair! Ask me how I know...
