My buddy took his 14 footer with a 35hp Rude out for a shake down ride and asked me to go along with my boat in case of any problems....this was good thinking! I was on the cell phone with my wife while doing about 30 mph up river and looked back to see how my buddies boat was doing......so far so good he was doing the typical looking around, turning etc. I went back to telling my wife how my newly reproped boat was running when it happened.........I heard the ungodly high reving..first thing that came to my mind was I spun my new prop but lucky me my boat was fine.....I looked back to see if my buddy was ok and all I saw was the bottom of his boat and his engine in mid air!! WHen he finely came to rest I hung up on my wife and spun around to check on the carnage. There was my buddy flat on his back in the boat lauging his butt off. The outbaord was hanging on my the cables and completly off of the boat. After verifying that there was no injusries we tied him off to my boat and went up river towards my house to better survey the damage.. When we go there I said Chris what the heck happened....he said at WOT he dropped his keys and reached down to grab them and got cought in my wake the wheel spun out of his hands and that was that. I helped him rebuild his transom LOL FUnny side not we are both Fire Fighter on the swift water rescue team for that stretch of the river !!
