How to start Mercruisr 2.5 L motor

Today I pulled mercruise 2.5 into water. To my surprice, I can not start the motor. I am sure the battery is full of the energy.

I am new to mercruise motor. Can you guide me how to start?

Do I need replace the spark? What special tools should I use to take off the spark?

When we tested 2 weeks ago, the pre-owner was easy to start it. mayby I was wrong

You can start a car? Boat engine is the same, just open the throttle a little as you crank... Once the engine is running, pull the throttle back to idle.

With boat in the water or connected with muffs

One full throttle movement to set choke and prime the carb

Push button on controller to operate throttle only and move throttle to about 30%

Turn key

When motor fires, back off RPM to 1500 for about a minute

Then return throttle to center, then move into gear and go boating

Suggest you take a safety course and have a boat savy friend along

Have you checked anything since the last time it ran 2 years ago? They need maintenance. Carbs and points ignition need to be gone over.
