This may be a crazy question but I will ask anyway......
I am putting my rebuilt alternator back on my boat. The sensor and excitor wires had some kind of bullet or push type connectors on them (sorry don't know the lingo...I know they are not spades.) I was going to put heat shrink on them just as added protection but here is where I want to be safe. I'm in the area with the motor and the hatch is up so ventilation is not a problem but....can I use a heat gun to shink the heat shrink? I know alternators, starters and other parts have to be marine so you don't go kaboom. And I have always made sure the blower is working properly and the hoses are in good shape because I have heard of too many horror stories. Am I just being too paranoid? Of course I don't even have a heat gun yet. I rewired my trailer lights and I used one of those butane lighters used to start my bbq grill. I'm pretty sure I don't want to use that
